2015 Limited Release Los Carneros Pinot Noir
Our Limited Release Los Carneros Pinot Noir exhibits aromas of red cherry, mushroom and rose petal. Flavors of strawberry, raspberry and spice intermingle on the palate. The wine has lively acidity with soft tannins and a long, smooth finish.
Los Carneros is one of Napa Valley’s coolest growing regions. The morning fog and afternoon winds, originating from the San Pablo Bay, help to create the cool climate influence in Los Carneros. Our Pinot Noir vineyards enjoy a long cool, growing season that allows for exceptional varietal expression to develop along with ripe fruit characteristics, fantastic balance and finesse.
The 2015 harvest in Napa Valley started ahead of schedule. With little rain and warmer conditions during the winter months, bud break started in mid-March instead of April. The warm and dry conditions continued throughout the growing season. As harvest grew closer we noticed that most clusters were smaller compare to previous harvests. This was a probable response to multiple years of high yields. Even though yields were down the quality of the fruit was terrific with high concentrations of fruit and complex flavors.
