' History

Before grapes dominated the landscape, the oak-studded Napa Valley provided rich grazing land for sprawling horse and cattle ranches. Once home to the Silverado Horseman’s Center with ambling riding trails, stables, and the area’s only indoor riding arena that welcomed up to 3,000 visitors, Black Stallion Estate Winery celebrates the property’s rich equestrian history. While the stables, riding track, and grandstands are now immortalized in black and white photographs, remnants of the stalls are still visible in the winery cellar.
