Delicate aromas of wild flowers, cardamom, honey, pear and tangerine peel describe this complex but approachable chardonnay. The layers of fruit aroma carry through to a rich, textured palate and a long finish.
Gold Medal - 2010 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
Our 2007 Chardonnay comes from some of the best know growing regions for Chardonnay in the Napa Valley. The Carneros and Oak Knoll District vineyards benefit from the cooling effects from the San Pablo Bay. The hotter inland valleys draw the fog from the bay over the land as the day progresses protecting the grapes from the hot summer sun and allowing them to ripen slowly. This gives the Chardonnay from this region complex aromas and bright flavors. The 2007 Chardonnay is a blend of 4 different vineyards. The wine was 100% barrel fermented and went through 100% malolactic fermentation in the barrel.
This wine pairs well with grilled chicken, Butternut squash soup and Dungeness crab salad.
